The rapper’s attorney Lance Lazzaro told a news outlet that 6ix9ine was in the sauna at an LA Fitness in South Florida when a group of men attacked him out of the blue.
Lazzaro stated that his client tried fighting off the group of attackers but was overthrown by them as they were greater in number.
The rapper, who is also known as Tekashi69, was not accompanied by any security officers at the time of the brutal attack.
The attack came to an end after the gym staff heard and saw what was happening and called Emergency Medical Services and the police.
According to some sources, the rapper was subjected to some powerful kicks which caused injuries to his ribs, face, jaws, and back.
TMZ obtained a photo of the rapper with blood on him.
An allegedly cold-hearted person captured the entire incident on their phone. The video was soon released on Twitter, which caused more and more to know about it.
The rapper was seen wearing a puffer jacket and shorts at the time of his beating. The photo of him having a face full of blood was taken at the hospital.
Many news outlets have reached out to 6ix9ine and his lawyer for a comment, but they have been unforthcoming until now.
The rapper is believed to be in stable condition and will recover completely soon.
6ix9ine first began releasing songs in 2014 and gained mainstream attention for his aggressive rap style mixed with anime visuals.
He rose to fame in late 2017 with the release of his debut commercial single Gummo, which went platinum. However, his career has also been the center of personal and legal issues.
His beating could be linked to his extensive criminal history. Tekashi69 was a significant part of the Nine Trey Bloods gang in New York.
The gang was labeled a “violent city gang” by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The rapper has also served a 24-month sentence in prison after pleading guilty to racketeering charges.
