Personal Statement

I AM NOT COMMITTED TO SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY AND AM STILL LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO PLAY THIS FALL! I am a 5 foot 10.5 inch athlete from Layton, UT and graduated from Layton Christian Academy in 2011. I was the starting quarterback at Layton Christian Academy since I was in the 9th grade and kept that position throughout my high school career. I also played a little bit of wide receiver and defensive back my Junior and Senior year.  I bring something more to a team other than statistics. I bring solid leadership, optimism, dedication, intelligence, and most of all heart. My leadership skills off the field are proven in both Student Body President and Secretary of the National Honors Society positions. On the field, I was team captain for all four years of my career, and I know it sounds tacky and cliché to say "I'm the first to show up and last to leave," but it's true. I'm that guy. I remember sleeping outside in front of the weight room in the morning, waiting for my coach to come open it up, and then having a second practice, after team practice, with my personal skills coach, to further improve my skills. I am a student athlete that works tirelessly to better myself in all aspects of who I am; On the field, off the field, as well as spiritually. I graduated Salutatorian of my class with 3.9 GPA while taking all honors classes available, playing varsity football, and leading Student Government. I scored a 26 on my ACT during my junior summer. College football is a dream I have had since I first padded up and started throwing a football at age seven. All I need is an opportunity to show you what I can do.
