Arsenal charged by the FA for alleged failure to control players during incident against Oxford
Arsenal have been charged by the FA for allegedly failing to conduct their players in an orderly fashion during their game against Oxford United.
The alleged incident occured in the 34th minute of the FA Cup third-round tie, when Arsenal players appealed for a penalty.
Albert Sambi Lokonga took on a shot which was blocked by Oxford’s Josh Murphy.

Players surrounded David Coote asking for a penalty, with the referee instead giving a corner.
There was no VAR for the match, with those facilities not supported at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium.
Oxford fans booed the Arsenal appeals for a penalty, before play continued with the corner.
An FA statement on Thursday confirmed the charge and read: “Arsenal FC has been charged with breaching FA Rule E20.1 during its tie against Oxford United FC in The FA Cup on Monday 9 January 2023.
“It’s alleged that Arsenal FC failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 34th minute, and the club has until Monday 16 January 2023 to respond.”
Arsenal are back in Premier League action this weekend when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur for the north London derby on Sunday.
