Barbara Jean Metz – Metropolitan Funeral
Pastor Barbara Jean Metz was born December 27, 1944, in South Carolina to Ella Mae and James Albert Harrison. She went home to be with the LORD on November 30th, 2021. Pastor Barbara Jean Metz was affectionately called “Pastor Barbara.” Pastor Barbara received her early education in the New York City School System. She attended Farmingdale University in Long Island New York. She received her Certificate in Counseling, B. A. and Masters Degree in Theology, and her Doctorate Degree in Sacred Theology from United Christian College. She was saved and received her spiritual foundation at The Greater Refuge Temple in New York.
She married the love of her life, Reverend James Metz, on January 7, 1967. From that Union was born Darain Keith.
Reverend James Metz and Pastor Barbara founded Christ The Redeemer Ministry in Long Island, New York, where she served as Co-Pastor. As Co-Pastor, she began Women Conferences as a spiritual outlet for women to fellowship. Reverend Metz and Pastor Barbara established Christ The Redeemer School of Ministry, where she served as the Dean. Pastor Barbara had a call on her life for women in the Five-Fold Ministry. Pastor Barbara founded HIS Infinite Grace Ministry; where she developed a grief ministry for women who have lost children. As a spiritual life coach, Pastor Barbara facilitated the growth of many women in ministry. She encouraged women to pursue their goals in CHRIST, to stay focused, and develop a love for the Word of GOD and embrace an essential need for a viable prayer life.
Her beloved and only son, Darain Keith Metz, preceded Pastor Barbara in death. Pastor Barbara leaves to mourn her husband Reverend James Metz, Stepsister Anna B. Pulley, Brother-In-Law Pastor John Metz/ Dr. Glennie Metz, Sister in law, Aurelia Metz Freeman, Nephews David Metz/Evath, Marcus Metz/Ursula, William Freeman/Tennille, Andrew, Michael, Aaron, Raymond, Niece Avery, Goddaughters Valerie, Jalana, Desiree, Cousins Pat Harling, Wanda Dixon, Arlene Winford, Albert Winford/Michelle, Gregory Winford/Shelia, Zoey, Isaiah, Travis, Kayla, Brenda, Novella and Elise (prayer partners, sister/friends), and a host of relatives, friends, Apostles, Bishops, Pastors, and religious affiliates.
