The Spurs announced that Diaw will play Wednesday against Dallas.

Diaw a Valuable Player for Spurs Despite Diminished Role

Diaw has assumed a smaller role all season following the arrivals of superstar power forward LaMarcus Aldridge and veteran David West, but he still ranks among the team's most valuable players thanks to his versatile skill set.

Not only is the French forward able to operate as a classic big on the blocks, but he can handle the ball and open up unique pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop opportunities as a high-low passer.

Although he's averaged 18.2 minutes per game during the 2015-16 season, Diaw has remained plenty impactful in his niche role, averaging 6.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 52.8 percent from the field.
