Personal Statement

~~Hi!
My name is Brandon Providence and I am currently 15 years old. I attend the Stony Brook High School in Stony Brook, Long Island which is a college preparatory boarding school. I play for my schools Boys’ varsity Basketball team. Although I am not a rotation player, I have worked immensely hard to be where I am today. I started playing Basketball in the 8th grade and haven’t looked back since, going from being cut from my 8th grade team to starting on my Junior Varsity team and then to making the varsity squad. I’m a young man of faith and this translates into my everyday life especially when it comes to basketball and academics. While my grades aren’t the best right now (2.9 GPA) I have been working tirelessly to make sure I’m on top of my school work going into junior year. My main goal in life is to do something with basketball, whether it is becoming an analyst or even a sports lawyer, I want to be involved with the thing I love most. I would love to make it to the NBA as well and I’m 200% confident I can make it if I work hard and do it the right way however, I want to keep my options open.  Overall what sets me aside from other athletes is my ability to compete and student of the game mentality. There is not one youth in the world that I believe can compete harder than I can. I’m extremely relentless on the court and I will do whatever I can to will my team to victory. Also I believe my ability to understand the game at a level much superior to my age benefits me into being able to be the best I can be and fully maximizing my potential, through working out physically while also training mentally. On the short term, next year my hope is to start on Varsity while also leading my team the state championship.
