Charles (CJ) Kobe's Football Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

I have been playing full tackle football since I was 6 years old and have grown to love the game passionately.  I don’t want high school to be the end of my football career and I have aspired to play at the collegiate level ever since. I know that being on a football team in college is an opportunity that could change my whole life.

I have played every snap on both sides of the ball my entire career, rarely taking a breather.  This shows my durability.  I’ve avoided major injury in all of this time, mostly due to being a multi-sport athlete and my natural body composition.  I’ve played more football than most of the kids my age due to playing both ways since I started, and most recently at a school with small numbers playing in a conference full of Goliaths.  Because of this I have developed an incredible football knowledge and am able to adapt to just about any offensive or defensive scheme.  Even though I might not be huge I compare favorably size-wise to many of the players in last year’s BCS Championship in similar positions.  My position coach I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working runners and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.  It's been difficult at my school because football is not a high priority and we play in a very tough conference, and I've been approached a lot by other schools asking me if I wanted to transfer to a more successful program, but I decided to be loyal to my coach and my friends and stay where I was even if we couldn't win a lot.  I think that shows loyalty and commitment at the expense of personal gain.  I am a four-sport varsity athlete and possess a great football IQ even if my combine numbers aren't spectacular because I don't concentrate on one sport in high school.

I want to play for a program that is a good match academically and where I can help the football team right away.  I am open to all options and want to find the right match for both of us.

I am also a 3-year varsity starter at the pitcher and catcher positions for baseball.   Stats for both baseball and football are woefully incorrect because it is not a high priority at my school but what you see on film should make up for it.
