INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (CNN) -- I would not eat it off my skis; I would not eat it off my knees; I would not eat the greenish snow, 'cause what is in it, I do not know.*

In New Ashford, Massachusetts, the hills and the valleys got into the spirit Friday with the wearing of the green.

Brodie Mountain is home to what locals call "The biggest St. Patrick's Celebration West of Dublin Ireland," because the snow at the Brodie Mountain Ski Resort or "Kelly's Irish Alps" was dyed a lovely shade of green by leprechauns.

Jim Kelly, owner and founder, built the resort around an Irish theme 31 years ago and traditionally dyes the snow in honor of Irish holiday.

So if skiers forget to wear green this weekend, a good wipe-out will ensure that they're covered. But take Frank Zappa's advice and don't eat the green snow.

* Apologies to Dr. Seuss
