Personal Statement

Hi coaches - 

My name is Darin Wilson, and I’m in the class of 2024 at Fairhope High School. Like most, I started playing when I was very young; Rec, club, all-stars, elite, and everything in between. I lost a year of play due to the pandemic, and then two more (freshman and sophomore year) due to medical issues. But through hard work and determination, I preserved earning a starting position on last year’s roster, and this year as well. I’ve played both positions of winger and a striker/center attacking midfielder, with experience in both a 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 format. I aspire to be a college athlete, no matter the division, as long as both the institution and team will help me to be better. Some of my best attributes are my overall speed, ball control, composure, and field vision especially in passing and assists. I’m a supportive leader with a positive attitude encouraging everyone to do their best and push hard. I am both coachable and dedicated, and strive to be one of the hardest working athletes on the team.
