Who is Daron Malakian?
Daron Malakian is an Armenian-American musician and record producer with a net worth of $20 million. He is known for his work as the guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist of bands System of a Down and Scars on Broadway.
Early Life and Career
Malakian was born on July 18, 1975 in Los Angeles to immigrant parents. He was unmotivated in school and became interested in playing the drums and guitar at a young age. He learned to play by ear and later realized the guitar was an excellent songwriting instrument.
Malakian met his future bandmates at Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School in Los Feliz and formed System of a Down based on a poem he wrote called “Victims of a Down.” He co-produced the band’s albums with Rick Rubin and started his own label, EatUrMusic, in 2003.
Success and Achievements
Malakian is ranked 30th on Guitar World’s list of The 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Guitarists of All time. He won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance for “BYOB” in 2006 as part of System of a Down.

Malakian dated Jessica Miller from 1996-2003 and was engaged to her from 2003-2006. They are no longer together.
