About Dowson Knox’s career
Dawson Knox is an American football player who currently plays as a tight end for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills. He played collegiate football at the University of Mississippi, commonly known as Ole Miss.
Knox is also a philanthropist and supports several programs through the P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative, which was founded by former Bills punter, Brian Moorman.
This organization is a cause that is close to his heart as his younger brother, Luke Knox, was a linebacker for Ole Miss Rebels and was set to play for Florida International University Panthers in 2022, but unfortunately passed away on August 17, 2022.
Before his college career, Knox attended St. Paul Christian Academy and Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee.
He played as a quarterback and wide receiver for his high school football team, but due to an ankle injury, he was only able to participate in one game during his final year.
In 2015, Knox enrolled as a walk-on fullback at Ole Miss and played there till 2018, collecting 39 receptions for 605 yards over his career. He decided to forego his senior year and join the 2019 NFL draft after his junior season in 2018.
The Buffalo Bills selected Knox with the 96th overall choice in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft.
He signed his first-year contract with the team on June 14, 2019. In his first season, he had an inconsistent performance but managed to grab 28 of his 50 targets for 388 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2020, he improved his performance and captured 24 passes, 288 yards, and three touchdowns.
