Could DeMar DeRozan find his way to a new team before this year's NBA trade deadline?

While most trade rumors surrounding the Chicago Bulls have centered around Zach LaVine, Matt Moore of Action Network reported that while the team is not interested in moving Alex Caruso, DeRozan could be a different story.

"As previously reported here, the Bulls continue to shut down calls for Alex Caruso, but some insiders do wonder if DeMar DeRozan on an expiring contract will have a new home by All-Star," Moore wrote.

DeRozan is averaging 21.9 points, 5.3 assists and four rebounds across 42 games for the Bulls in 2023-24. This has come despite the Bulls struggling to a 21-23 start.

He is also set to hit unrestricted free agency after the season, so Chicago will likely hope to recoup some assets in order to retool and be competitive in the near future.

He could be a great pickup for a team looking for a scorer down the stretch. He has a cap hit of $28.6 million and could bring playoff experience to a team looking to make a run.

The NBA trade deadline is set for Feb. 8.
