Diamond Bradley Murder – Dead Body Found In A Ditch

On May 12, 2022, on Investigation Discovery, an episode of See No Evil titled “In My Heart, I Knew” delved into the perplexing case of Diamond Bradley murder.

The episode was focused on Diamond, a sixteen-year-old girl who goes missing under a weird condition in 2018.

Law enforcement and detectives start a search for her, hoping to uncover clues about her whereabouts through surveillance footage.

However, their investigation takes a horrifying turn when they make a frightening discovery that she was brutally stabbed multiple times and left in a roadside trench by an older man named Richard Henderson.

He is a criminal from Illinois. The authorities gave him a lengthy prison sentence for the murder of Diamond Bradley.

Henderson pled guilty to charges of Diamond Bradley murder in Putnam County Court.

Consequently, the court sentenced him to 53 years behind bars.

How did Diamond Bradley and Richard Henderson meet?

According to Putnam County Sheriff Kevin Doyle, investigators revealed that Henderson killed Diamond after they met each other through an online platform.

He also shared that Diamond agreed to meet him on the morning of January 24, 2018.

Sheriff Doyle explained that Henderson went to Diamond’s house around 6 to 7 AM, picked her up, and drove her to Granville Township, which is approximately 100 miles southwest of Chicago.

After some time, a heated discussion started between them, which later converted into a physical fight leading Henderson to stab Diamond multiple times, resulting in her tragic death.

After Diamond Bradley murder, the criminal allegedly disposed of her body in a trench along a country road 100 miles southwest of Chicago.

Diamond went missing on January 24, 2018, and her injured body was discovered by a passerby near the roadside trench on Putnam County Road on January 27, 2018.

Based on cellphone records and surveillance video footage, the police tracked down Richard.

They arrested him on charges of first-degree murder.

Instead of opting for a trial before Judge Stephen, Richard decided to negotiate a plea deal.

The Bradleys agreed to the plea bargain, feeling they had no other choice.

During the court proceedings, Doris Bradley, Diamond’s mother, provided testimony about the profound impact the murder has had on her family.

She had moved to Illinois Valley with the hope of providing her children a better life, but now, due to the traumatic memories associated with the tragedy, she expressed a desire to leave the area and start anew.

Bradley shared that she has two other children, aged 14 and 11, who struggle to sleep at night.

She mentioned that her ability to work had been impacted, and the entire family is trying their best to cope with the situation and move forward.

Moreover, she expressed how Diamond held immense significance to their family, and now they face a profound sense of loss.

Bradley described the house as eerily quiet, emphasizing that Diamond meant everything to them.

The tragic event has created an irreplaceable void in their hearts.

Richard Henderson is currently behind bars, where the police will incarcerate him for many more years.
