Dr Pimple Popper ‘left stumped’ by James’ 16-year-old forehead cyst – ‘he has two heads’ Sun 10 December 2023 14:00 Kiesha Dosanjh
Dr Pimple Popper has seen many cysts in her time but she’s ‘left stumped’ by James’ forehead cyst, as she says she’s ‘never seen anything like it’.
The TLC show has been airing since 2018, and in the last five years, Dr Pimple Popper has given us popaholics endless content to enjoy. Hopefully, there will be more to come soon, but for now, let’s take a look back at James’ huge forehead lump.
Dr Pimple Popper patient James has had forehead cyst for 16 years
James is 48 years old and has a huge lump on the side of his forehead, which he says is the size of a golf ball. “It’s squishy and soft, but also has some density to it.”
The bump first started 16 years ago which started off very small. Like many other patients, before visiting Dr Pimple Popper’s office, James had seen other docs who told him not to worry about it.
However, the patient revealed that five or six years ago the bump tripled in size, working its way down into his face and close to his eye socket.
James says his colleagues joke around about the bump, as one jokes: “He has two heads but no brain.” The patient tries not to make a big deal out of it, although says the jokes have been bothering him a bit more lately.
Dr Sandra Lee is ‘concerned’ about the contents of the bump
James then makes his way to Dr Sandra Lee, who takes a closer look. She says the bump is interesting as when she pushes on it, it feels like memory foam.
She says it doesn’t feel like “full liquid” but it’s “definitely soft”. The doctor has seen many cysts and lipomas on the forehead but says she has “never seen” one that feels like memory foam.
This makes her suspicious that it might not be something she can remove. Therefore, she tries an aspiration, taking a needle and “sucking out” some of the contents. This will give her a greater idea of what the ‘fluid’ inside is.
She then goes ahead and takes a look at the fluid, and realizes that it is a cyst after all. Luckily, this means James can have it removed.

Dr Lee then goes ahead with the removal, admitting she was worried it was going to be something more serious.
However, luckily it was only a cyst, leaving both the patient and doctor relieved.
James says he now sees a “new person” when he looks at himself in the mirror. He then gets emotional speaking about how his 13-year-old daughter will see him without a lump on his head for the first time in her life.
