On what looks like an excellent wicket to bat on, the MI women’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur accepted the invitation to bat first gracefully, as she smashed the first WPL half-century off mere 22 deliveries to have the Giants’ bowlers on their haunches.

A fiery start from the West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews (47 off 31), and another onslaught off the bat of New Zealand allrounder Amelia Kerr (45* off 24) in addition to Kaur’s in the middle order, meant that MI Women registered a massive total of 207/5 in their 20 Overs.

As many as 130 runs were added by the Kerr-Kaur duo during the last ten Overs, with Pooja Vastrakar (15 off 8), and Issy Wong (6* off 1) providing the final touches in the end.

Skipper Harmanpreet returned back after scoring 65 off mere 30 deliveries, with the help of 14 Fours.
