Ebony Shavon England-Smitherman – Metropolitan Funeral

Ebony Shavon England-Smitherman was the youngest of three, born on December 22, 1982, in Norfolk, VA to Dorothy England and Paul England, Jr.  She received her education from Norfolk Public Schools and earned her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from Norfolk State University.  She was inducted into the Zeta Gamma Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated in 2005 and was a Social Worker in the Chesapeake Human Services Department’s Adult Protective Services Division at the time of her transition.

Ebony was adored by her husband John “Dinky” Smitherman (deceased); her little angel Hailey Zade Jones; her mother Dorothy “Hope” England (deceased); her father Reverend Paul England, Jr. (Ann); her sister Rhoda Perkins (deceased); her brother Elton Petaway (deceased); her faithful “ride or die” nephew/little brother “Lil” Darryl Blunt (Lakeysa); her great nephew and niece Darryl Blunt, Jr. and Ny’Asia Blunt; her uncles Steven Jones, Zaph “Kenny” Jones (Shirley), Darryl Jones (Tracey), Marcus England Sr. (Jacqueline) and Clifford “Sarge” England (Melanie); her Aunts Gwendolyn Clark (deceased) and Avis Hinton (James); her special & resolute “Guardian Angel” cousin Tina Stokes and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives & friends.
