Payton Active vs. Raptors

Sunday, March 20

The Magic announced Payton is available against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, per Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

Payton Injury Deprived Magic of Key Distributor

Payton has been able to stay mostly healthy through his first two NBA seasons. The only serious injury concern he has dealt with is an ankle injury that caused him to miss four games in January.

The former first-round pick appeared in all 82 games as a rookie and is showing signs of improvement in his sophomore campaign. Payton's shooting is not his best weapon, but his three-point percentage is a strong 38.2 percent.

The Magic have leveled off after falling out of the Eastern Conference playoff mix. Payton remains a key piece of Orlando's future as a distributor of the basketball and a floor leader.
