French Open 2024 Men's Final: Carlos Alcaraz vs. Alexander Zverev Predictions | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
At just 21 years old, Carlos Alcaraz is already looking to win his third Grand Slam title.
The No. 3 seed faces No. 5 seed Alexander Zverev in Sunday's 2024 French Open men's singles final.
Both players will be making their French Open final debuts.
While Alcaraz is looking to win his third Grand Slam title, Zverev is looking for his first after falling to Dominic Thiem at the 2020 US Open.
Both players are considered exceptional on clay-court surfaces and have already won countless ATP 1000 Masters clay events across their careers.
Zverev will likely enter as the underdog, despite holding an advantage in their head-to-head matchups.
Prediction
Carlos Alcaraz over Alexander Zverev in four sets
Alcaraz enters Sunday on the heels of a five-set semifinal victory against Jannik Sinner.
Although he spent more than four hours on court, the Spaniard looked fresh throughout, showing few signs of fatigue.
Alcaraz has won seven of his 13 ATP-level titles on clay and became the youngest player to win the Madrid Open at 19 years old in 2022.
The 21-year-old has faced Zverev nine times and holds a 4-5 record.
While Zverev enters with momentum after defeating Casper Ruud in his best performance yet, the German has already played two five-set matches this tournament and has struggled with consistency.
Most notably, the 27-year-old committed 48 unforced errors in a straight-set win in the quarterfinal round.
In order to win his first Grand Slam title, Zverev will have to be flawless on serve and commit as few unforced errors on the forehand side as possible.
Even then, it is hard to see anyone stopping Alcaraz from winning his first French Open title, considering the Spaniard's current momentum.
