Gal Costa’s death was confirmed by press representatives, including the press team of CNN affiliate CNN Brasil. She passed away at the age of 77.

Her death news was also revealed with her black and white photo on her official Instagram account.

She was considered the best singer in Brazil and was well-known for her graceful voice. She was one of the singers who brought the singing career to brazil and spread the sound of Brazil worldwide. 

On November 9th, after her death, a statement was published on her official account“We are announced with deep sadness and a broken heart that we announced to you the death of singer Gal Costa this morning, November 9th, and her death happen in São Paulo. The Details of her funeral will be shared at a later date. We appreciate everyone’s caring thoughts during this very difficult time.”

Still, Costa’s family never revealed the cause of death on any social media platform or news channel, maybe her family is not ready to give any statement about her sudden death. 

Her death brought deep grief to her homeland, and her friend, family, and friends were not prepared to handle the traumatic news of her death.

As per sources, in the last three weeks, the Brazilian singer underwent a Nascal surgical procedure, and she had in the recovery period before her death.

Recently, Gal Costa canceled her music festival concert, which raised several questions. A few hours later, her manager revealed that “She canceled her concert because of her doctor’s advice to rest after her surgery”she removed a neural from her right nasal cavity. 

She wants to return and perform again on the stage, and she expected to show her voice in Sao Paulo in December, but her death happened before that month.

Costa was the greatest Brazilian singer, and she had a principal figure in the movement that she joined Tropicália movement in the 1960s. She worked with her alongside singers Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. 

She impacted millions of Brazilian lives through Tropicália Movement. Later she became a songwriter and wrote many songs with different singers.

She is well-known for her multiple talents and graceful voice. Numerous people are impressed by her voice and follow her as their idol and want to become like her in their life. 

On September 26th, 1945, she opened her eyes in the city of Salvador, in Bahia. She began her singing career in 1965, gave many successful songs, and made her name worldwide. 

In the mid of 2011, she won a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

After her traumatic death, her fans were heartbroken and have been giving several prayers and condolences to her family. They want to find the reason for her sudden death, but they still fail.

Her long-time collaborator and close friend Gil posted on his Twitter account, “Very sad and affected when I knew the death news of Costa and I considered her as my real sister and she always be remembered.” 

President-elect Luiz Inácio da Silva posted on his Twitter, “Gal Costa was among the world’s best singers, among our principal artists to carry the name and sounds of Brazil to the whole planet,” and he also posted a beautiful picture with her. In the photo, he hugged her.
