Wood described the vehicle as a mobile classroom used for educational purposes. She said two people were traveling in the RV at the time, while other employees at the scene had been traveling alongside the RV in separate vehicles.
They were all educators or animal care staff, she said. Officials added that no animals were on board.
All eastbound lanes were blocked in the immediate aftermath of the fire before two lanes opened around 9:45 a.m., authorities said. The road fully reopened by 11 a.m.
Police said the fire was caused by computer equipment on the RV. An investigation is ongoing.
