How Has Steve Harvey Attained His Jaw-Dropping Net Worth?

Steve Harvey has expanded his television universe, having made his debut as a judge in a new ABC courtroom show, Judge Steve Harvey.

The Family  Feud host had a gavel in hand when he decided to make rulings about real-life conflicts, ranging from family disagreements to toxic friendships.

In the unscripted series, Harvey shares his opinions about the stressful situations of the common folk, ending each case with a resolution he deems fair.

Much like Judge Judy, It is not likely Harvey’s rulings will be legally binding. Some viewers also predict certain cases have been fabricated solely for the show.

The long-time host made quite the splash with Judge Steve Harvey, and many predict this will contribute significantly to his already impressive net worth.

How Much Does Steve Harvey Earn?

It has been estimated that Harvey has a cumulative net worth of $200 million.

Hoping to make it big in comedy in the 1980s, Harvey struggled for years until his big break as the finalist in the Second Annual Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search in April 1990.

He was named host of Its Showtime at the Apollo soon after, replacing Mark Curry – this became his official entry into the industry.

Harvey began to perform stand-up throughout the decade, starring in the 1997 Kings of Comedy tour with Cedric the Entertainer, Bernie Mac, and D.L. Hughley.

This was known as one of the world’s highest-earning comedy tours of all time, grossing a whopping $37 million in 1997 and 1998.

Although his exact earnings are not known, it can be said that a majority of Harvey’s early salary came from his multiple television gigs.

His success as a comic led him to a starring role on the ABC sitcom Me and the Boys in 1994 just two years ago and his own WB show, The Steve Harvey Show, which ran from 1996 to 2002.

Harvey also achieved great success through his weekly radio program, The Steve Harvey Morning Show.

He retired from his stand-up career with a final show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 2, 2012. This was the end of his 27 years as a stand-up comedian.

Breakthrough with Hosting

In 2010, Harvey became the new host of Family Feud, bringing the show out of a detrimental viewership slump.

It has been estimated he earns approximately $45 million per year for his duties on Family Feud.

Harvey can also thank the $20 million he received from radio hosting duties for his hefty net worth.

Since 2015, he has hosted the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas.

During his first season, he mistakenly named the runner-up as the winner and was forced to correct his mistake on-air, clarifying that he had misread the results.

Despite the blunder, Harvey remained a popular figure for the pageant franchise, returning as host in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Overall he made $45 million from the multitude of hosting gigs between 2017 and 2018. Harvey repeated this the following year.

Books and Other Endeavors

It is unlikely that Harvey could have amassed such a net worth from television work alone, no matter how famous he is.

His other work includes his book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, released in 2009, which inspired the 2012 film Think Like a Man.

The book spent a solid 64 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, remaining one of the top purchased books in 2009.

He has since penned three more books, boosting his net worth further.

In 2014, he launched the dating site, Delightful, marking a joint venture with IAC.

Harvey united all his business ventures in 2017 under Steve Harvey Global (SHG).

Included in this is Harvey’s production company, East One Twelve, and his daughter’s company, Harvey Events.

East One Twelve is Harvey’s in-house company that develops digital content under his brand, working in films, television, and viral content.

The host also owns the rights to the African version of Family Feud, which premiered in 2020.

Other projects under Steve Harvey Global include the launch of the 2017 Sand and Soul Festival – a yearly event that features live music, comedy, and a Q&A session Harvey participates in.

Harvey also began hosting a New Year’s Eve special tha year, broadcasting live from Times Square for the Fox network.

Two days before the first broadcast, Harvey became ordained in the state of New York so he could officiate the live wedding between media hosts Maria Menounos and Keven Undergaro.

This became Fox’s most-watched New Year’s Eve broadcast to date, cementing Harvey’s status as one of the nation’s most popular public figures.

Harvey’s Real Estate Values

In February 2019, Harvey and his wife Marjorie decided to lease a mansion situation within the gated community of Beverly Park in Beverly Hills, California.

Harvey’s Marriage to Marjorie
