You’ll only need one to infuse a weapon. After that, you can reinforce the infused variant with titanite, like you would the regular. This guide will show you where to find infusion gems in Dark Souls 3.
Where to find Infusion Materials
Keep in mind, in order to unlock most of the infusions, you’ll need to bring Andre the Blacksmith all four Infusion Coals. Here’s the complete list of these materials and what they do:| Name | Effect |

Heavy Gem
Area: Undead SettlementClosest bonfire: Dilapidated Bridge
Where to find: After you give the Handmaid the Mortician’s Ashes, she’ll start selling the Grave Key. Buy it, then warp to the Dilapidated Bridge bonfire. Go through the shortcut on the left (across the bridge) and once you jump down, use the key to enter the tomb tunnels. Follow them until you’re out, in a ravine. You’ll see a Crystal Lizard on your right. Kill it and it will drop a heavy gem.
Sharp Gem
Area: Catacombs of CarthusClosest bonfire: Abyss Watchers
Where to find: After you cross the bridge at the top, go left and up the stairs. Go down the ladder and follow the corridor until you’re in a large room. There will be a corpse to your right, with a sharp gem on it.
Refined Gem
Area: Lothric CastleClosest bonfire: Dragon Barracks
Where to find: Climb to the castle entrance and go across the bridge, under the two dragons. The gem is on a corpse on the right, under the terrace where one of the dragons is.
Raw Gem
Area: Lothric CastleClosest bonfire: Dragon Barracks
Where to find: Go up to the entrance where the two fire-breathing dragons are. Jump off the bridge, then go left and up the stairs. Enter the castle using a passage on your right. Turn right after you enter and look at the balcony behind the staircase. The gem will be on a corpse on it.
Crystal Gem
Area: Lothric CastleClosest bonfire: Grand Archives
Where to find: Once you enter the Grand Archives through the main door, turn left and go up the stairs. Once you reach the top, you’ll see a crystal lizard. Chase it and kill it – it will drop the crystal gem.
Simple Gem
Area: Irithyll of The Boreal ValleyClosest bonfire: Pontiff Sulyvahn
Where to find: Go into the courtyard, then go under the arches on your left. Exit on the other side and take the stairs up. Go back into the Pontiff cathedral – you’ll end up on the walkway. Take a left as soon as you’re inside. Keep going until you see a crystal lizard. Kill the lizard to get the gem.
Fire Gem
Area: Undead SettlementClosest bonfire: Dilapidated Bridge (if you’ve unlocked the shortcut tunnel) / Undead Settlement
Where to find: Go down to the bottom of the Undead Settlement, to the stairs that lead into the Curse-Rotted Greatwood boss fight. Turn around and head past the stairs you came down. Cross the bridge on your left and go into the tower. Ride the elevator up and jump off mid-way. Exit through the window and you’ll see a giant fiery demon rampaging through a village. When you kill him, you’ll get the gem as reward. Siegward can help you with this.
Chaos Gem
Area: Catacombs of CarthusClosest bonfire: Demon Ruins
Where to find: Go down to the Smoldering Lake. Turn right as you step into the water. Keep to the cliffs and continue going right. The gem is on a corpse near a ruined building.
Lightning Gem
Area: Irithyll of The Boreal ValleyClosest bonfire: Church of Yorshka
Where to find: Go out of the church towards the city, down the stairs and into the cathedral on the left. The gem is on a corpse in front of the altar.
Blessed Gem
Area: Cathedral of The DeepClosest bonfire: Cleansing Chapel
Where to find: Use the shortcut on the left and take the elevator up. Follow the ledge to the left and climb the ladder up to the bell tower. Jump from the window onto the roof and you’ll get to the top of the cathedral. Enter and walk along the arches all the way to the right. There will be a corpse guarded by a large knight. The gem will be on it.
Deep Gem
Area: Irithyll of The Boreal ValleyClosest bonfire: Pontiff Sulyvahn
Where to find: Cross the large courtyard with the dead giants and climb the stairs. Enter the tower and go to the far left corner. Hit the walls until one of them disappears (an illusory wall), then climb down the ladder. There will be two items in the water. The farther one is the gem.
Dark Gem
Area: High Wall of LothricClosest bonfire: Oceiros, The Consumed King
Where to find: As you go into the swampy garden outside of Oceiros’ castle, look under the tall staircase that leads nowhere (on the right if you’re coming from the boss room). You’ll see a corpse with the dark gem on it.
Blood Gem
Area: Irithyll of The Boreal ValleyClosest bonfire: Church of Yorshka
Where to find: Go into the garden from the bonfire, then turn left and go down the stairs. Descend into the basement and go straight until you’re out. Right at the exit, turn right and jump through a hole in the railing. You’ll see a body next to a tree further down. The gem will be on that body.
Poison Gem
Area: Irithyll DungeonClosest bonfire: Profaned Capital
Where to find: Get to the church in the toxic swamp. Jump down into the poison water, turn around and enter the cave under the wooden walkway. Once you’re in, turn right. You’ll see a corpse near the entrance – the gem will be on it.
Hollow Gem
Area: Road of SacrificesClosest bonfire: Farron Keep Perimeter
Where to find: Spawn at the Farron Keep Perimeter bonfire, turn around and head down the hallway. Before you reach the first enemy, you’ll see a hole in the wall on your right. Jump down through it and look to your right. You’ll see a corpse with an item nearby. That’s the hollow gem you’re looking for.
Shriving Stone
Area: Irithyll of The Boreal ValleyClosest bonfire: Church of Yorshka
Where to find: Go into the garden, then to the left and down the stairs. Enter the basement, go down the stairs and turn left. Climb the ladder and look for a corpse on one of the beams. The gem will be on it.
