Morgan Freeman, in his acting career, has portrayed the Almighty. He says he is a believer “undeniably” in real life. 

Now, the Oscar winner has visited 30 different cities across 5 continents, covering a total distance of almost 120,000 kilometers (about 74,000 miles) to understand the spiritual mysteries of each.

Freeman told AFP that his experience on this long travel had taught him that religious faith is “society’s glue.”  

He remarked that “the point of religion, in almost every society, is to keep the people together functioning as a unit.”  

On March 5th, National Geographic will debut the third season of “The Story of God,” comprising six episodes. 

Freeman visits the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, spends time with “living goddesses” in Nepal, examines the alleged crown of thorns worn by Jesus in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, chats with a “medium” in Vietnam, and visits a temple in the Himalayas. 

Following allegations of sexual harassment against the Academy Award victor, production was halted for the season. 

After conducting their research, though, National Geographic decided to keep the show going. 

When asked if he felt the allegations would hurt his reputation or career, Freeman firmly said they would not.

Freeman, who calls himself “cursed with enormous curiosity about life, people, and things,” says, “Those questions resonate with me” in an interview with the Press Association.

Even though science has provided explanations for many of the most pressing concerns humans have faced throughout history, it still can’t solve every problem. 

The Hollywood celebrity believes that going to Joel Osteen’s church in Houston was the most memorable part of the entire series for him.

Thousands of people were inspired by just hearing him speak, he says.

God has given you everything you need to achieve. Now, it’s up to you. “He wasn’t preaching; he was just making a statement. 

Instead of telling yourself. “Oh, I have an application for a job, but I know that I’m unable to get it for whatever reason, I might as well get ready for it anyway,” try telling yourself, “I might as well get ready for it anyway.” 

Try to approach the experience with an open mind. Failure breeds negativity. In God’s providence, you have access to resources. 

You can do this because God has given you the ability to. He went on to say that he was astounded by the number of individuals seeking God and hoped the series would benefit them in their quest.

Because “I connected and found value in making it,” he continued, “my hope, I suppose, is that the audience will connect and find value in The Story of God.”

Freeman adds, “We are all in favour of our truth,” and I couldn’t agree more. As I traveled, I had this “unifying and surprising revelation.”

On Sunday, April 3, National Geographic Channel will premiere the series The Story Of God.

Who is Morgan Freeman?

Morgan Freeman was born to Mayme Edna and Morgan Porterfield Freeman on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee. He’s the last born of five kids. Morgan was born in Charleston, Mississippi.
