Personal Statement
My name is Isaac Gutierrez. I am 18 years old and currently live in Paterson, New Jersey. I currently attend International High School. In my freshman and sophomore year I played baseball for Eastside High School JV team. In my junior year I transferred to John F. kennedy high to play Baseball on their Varsity team because they offered me a better opportunity to play the sport I love. I play three years with a traveling team call Paterson Braves. I currently play for traveling team call PS2 Crusaders. The PS2 Crusaders and John F. Kennedy are help me reach my goal in learn new techniques to better my skills in baseball, so I can reach my dreams of getting a scholarship for college. In school I work really hard to do my best. I am constantly asking questions to get a better understanding of what is being taught in the classroom. School has never been an easy task for me since I have a learning disability but I work harder everyday to better myself and never give up.
I will never forget the day that I first fell in love with baseball and knew that this is what I wanted to do. I was 2 years old when my dad and mom took me to my first Met's game. My parents thought I wouldn't stay still at the game but when they threw the first ball I did not move until the game was over. I remember when the game was over I asked my dad for a bat and a ball. I told him that I wanted to play baseball and from that day on I've never stopped. My love for baseball grows more and more. I don't only like to play the sport, I like to watch it, go to the Met's games and read about it and MLB news. When the baseball season is over I count down days until season starts again. My dream is to be baseball player or to work in baseball. I will give everything I have to reach my goal of getting into a good college to pursue my dream of baseball and get a scholarship.
