Jahan Dotson Recruits Cowboys' Micah Parsons to Commanders After Dan Quinn's Exit | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
After former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was hired by the Washington Commanders on Thursday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson made a pitch to Dallas' defensive stalwart.
Dotson attempted to recruit Cowboys linebacker and former Penn State teammate Micah Parsons to the Commanders on social media shortly after it was reported that Quinn would take over as Washington's head coach.
In doing so, Dotson referenced a recent quote from Parsons in which he said Quinn "might take me with him" if he accepts a head coaching job.

In 2023, Parsons tallied 64 tackles and 14 sacks, proving himself as one of the best defensive presences in the league. Now, he'll look to continue his success under a new defensive coordinator.
Parsons and Dotson have a history, as the two played together at Penn State. Both standouts, Parsons had 191 tackles and 6.5 sacks in two years with the Nittany Lions and Dotson recorded 2,757 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns across four seasons.
Now, the two have blossomed into strong NFL players, albeit of different calibers.
Dotson is still looking to find his footing a bit after his second year in the NFL, as he notched 518 yards and four touchdowns in 2023. With a new coach and a fresh start for the Commanders, Dotson will be looking to reach the next level in 2024.
With Quinn departing for Washington, the Cowboys now have a big role to fill.
In 2023, Quinn led a Cowboys defense that allowed 3,481 passing yards, which was the fifth-best number in the NFL, while giving up just 18.5 points per game.
The end of Dallas' season was underwhelming, with a Wild Card Round exit to the Green Bay Packers, but it's clear Quinn has a solid defensive mind and should find success with his new team.
