Jason Statham is a famous British actor. Best known for promising roles in The Transporter, Hobbs & Shaw, Crank, Lock Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and The Expendables are among the action films in which he has appeared. 

Statham’s date of birth is 26 July 1967, and he was born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire. He is renowned for action movies and playing rough, utterly despicable, and ruthless characters, and that he is classified as an antihero.

Breakthrough

Jason Statham is mainly known for entertaining action films, but his first taste of stardom occurred when he appeared as a background dancer in the early 1990s.

Statham’s mother’s name was Eileen née Yates, and she worked as a dancer. Barry Statham’s father, on the other hand, was a street seller, and he has worked as a painter and a coal miner in the past.

His family was not wealthy in any way, and he’d been through a lot of financial difficulties in the past. Jason Statham did not follow in his father’s footsteps when he grew up and relocated to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

Even though his father offered him the opportunity to establish a modest business, he turned it down and became interested in martial arts.

He used to spend a lot of time with footballer Vinnie Jones, from whom he learned how to play the game well from. A local grammar school then recruited Statham from 1978 until 1983.

He became interested in diving when he was just 11 years old. Statham used to train at all hours of the day and night in order to make the British National Swimming, and he also  concentrated on his one-of-a-kind diving skills.

Jason Statham also participated in the 10 meter, 3 meter, and 1-meter events for England in the 1990 Commonwealth Games. However, his professional life took an unexpected turn.

Statham’s career in the media started when he was noticed by the sports modeling firm Sports Promotions while exercising at London’s Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

The British director, Ritchie selected Statham in the part of “Bacon” in his 1998 crime-comedy movie Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels within a week of knowing about his career as a black market seller.

Jason Statham began his professional career as an actor from there. Because of his athletic appearance, he had several proposals from action filmmakers, some of which were commercial successes and others that failed at the box office.

Statham, on the other hand, did not stop there. He proved himself to be the most versatile and strongest actor in Hollywood when he was cast in The Transporters series.

Jason Statham featured in The Expendables series in 2010 after achieving a competitive advantage in the industry. However, in 2012, he was signed on to make his return as Lee Christmas in The Expendables 2.
