Jenna Lester's Softball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

My goal is to get a quality education, while playing softball along the way.  I'm a senior in high school and a good student in both academics and citizenship.  My Junior year,  I was one of only five students selected by my school to attend Girl's State, which is an 8 day trip to the State's Capitol, where we stayed in Florida State University dorms, (near the State's Capitol) learning about and participating in all aspects of government, including elections of governmental positions and other critical government offices and creating and voting on bills, legislation and laws, while in the actual Capitol.  Only about 300 students were selected from the entire state of Florida to attend.  At Girl's State, I was elected by my peers as the Police Chief and the Senate Chaplain.

Athletically, I finished my junior year on the varsity softball team, where I played every game, every inning and had a .439 BA, .484 OBP, .524 SLG and 1.008 OPS, while only making 5 errors at first base, (.961 fielding %).
I can also play 3rd base and pitch and I was named First Team All County.

This year, my senior year, I am leading the entire county in HR's, SLG% (1.095), OPS% (1.695), second in the entire county in RBI's and second in the entire county in BA, (I'm hitting .571).  I'm a very good first baseman, third baseman and pitcher and a very, very good hitter.  I believe I can immediately contribute to whatever team I play for.  I am interested in biology, the medical field and possibly animal science.  I am a very hard worker, a person of high morals and high character and I have always been a great teammate, always supporting my teammates and my coaches.  My parents have both graduated from college, (mother a BA and father BA and MPA) and my sister is presently a senior at the University of Florida.  I will work as hard as any other player and will strive to make whichever school I play for, the very best.  Thank You
