Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant's 2009 Finals Game-Worn Jersey Sells for $1.75M at Auction | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Kobe Bryant's game-worn Los Angeles Lakers jersey from Game 1 of the 2009 NBA Finals sold at a Sotheby's auction for $1.75 million on Wednesday (h/t Will Stern of Cllct).
Bryant scored 40 points in the 100-75 win over the Orlando Magic in that contest, the most points he ever scored in an NBA Finals game. The Lakers would go on to win the title in five games, the fourth of five titles in Bryant's legendary career and the first he won without dominant center Shaquille O'Neal.
"I just want it so bad, that's all," Bryant told reporters at the time regarding his quest to win another title. "I just want it really bad."
Other Bryant memorabilia sold on Wednesday included a signed basketball for $15,240 and a ball from the team's 2000 NBA championship that includes signatures from Kobe and Shaq for $38,100.
