It would have been Mbah a Moute's second stint with the Kings, as he appeared in nine games for them during the 2013-14 season. He spent last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, starting 61 games.

This is an unfortunate setback, though it's unclear at this time why he failed the physical and what this means for his prospects of finding another NBA home.

The 6'8" forward recorded career highs of 9.9 points per game and 3.7 defensive rebounds with the Sixers. Entering his eighth season, Mbah a Moute became a target of the Kings after their failed pursuit of Andrea Bargnani, according to ESPN's Marc Stein

Now, the Kings will be looking to replace Mbah a Moute on the defensive end, where he would have made a great addition to their lineup. The Kings were tied for third worst in the NBA last season, allowing 105.0 points per game on their way to a 29-53 finish.
