Dynasty star Matthew was born to his parents Donna Lynn and Joseph Lawrence Mignogna Sr. in  Abington Township, Pennsylvania. His mother Donna worked as a personal manager while his father was an insurance broker.

Lawrence was born as the middle child to his parents, he has an elder brother Joey Lawrence, and a younger brother Andy Lawrence. Both of his brothers are accomplished actors in the entertainment industry. Just like his elder sibling, Matthew attended and graduated from Abington Friends School. He made his acting debut at the age of just 4 years old in 1984 appearing as Danny Carrington for three episodes of Dynasty.

Rozonda Thomas aka Chilli was born to her parents Ava Thomas and Abdul Ali. Her mother comes from an African-American heritage while her father belongs of Bangladeshi-Arab origin. Chilli met her father Abdul for the first time at the age of 25 years old, the first meeting was broadcasted by Sally Jessy Raphael's television talk show. 

The singer was raised mostly by her mother Ava and her grandmother BigMama in  Columbus, Georgia. She attended  Benjamin Elijah Mays High School in her childhood. While her beau Lawrence might have found fame at the age of 4 years old, Chilli was not famous until she was in her early 20s.
