Michael Gillespie's Men's Soccer Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

I am currently a Senior at Bloomfield High School in New Jersey.  I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old when I started with the Bloomfield Soccer Little Cleats Program.  At age 8, I started playing travel soccer with the Bloomfield Soccer Program.  I continued to play soccer year-round for the travel team, the intown team as well as indoor soccer in the winter months.  I also played baseball and basketball during my elementary years, but soccer was always my passion.  

Throughout my soccer career, I have played in every position, whether it be striker, mid fielder, defender and I have even had to step into goal on occasion.  I have served as captain on both the Freshman and JV teams and am currently playing as starting Center Back for the Varsity squad.  I consider myself a loyal and dependable player and above all a team player, which is essential in the game of soccer.  I would love to continue playing soccer in college.

In the classroom, I study very hard and currently have a 4.1 GPA.   I have a very rigorous schedule for my senior year and am currently enrolled in honors and 3 AP classes.  I have made High Honors or “Bengal Pride” every year in High School and am a member of the National Honor Society.  I am currently looking for a school which will offer me the right fit both academically as well as athletically.
