Neve Campbell And Matthew Lillard Dating History

Neve Campbell and Matthew Lillard were dating each other for a brief period of time in the late 90s. Now, they have settled with their respective families.

Campbell and Lillard met on the set of the horror movie Scream in 1996. Campbell starred in the lead, where she played the role of an innocent victim named Sydney Prescott. At the same time, Lillard portrayed the role of Stuart, a supporting character.

The two actors were having a good run in the entertainment industry at that time. In Scream, they shared a screen and became friends while shooting the movie. Scream was a hit, and it cemented the position of both Campbell and Lillard in the entertainment industry. Following the success of the initial movie, a sequel was announced, and filming started in July 1997. 

Campbell reprised the lead role in the sequel, and Lillard was called upon for a minor role in the movie. After the two actors met for the second time, they became closer than ever.  Campbell and Lillard started a relationship in August 1997. But their relationship was short-lived, and couldn't hold water for long. So, after dating each other for four months, the actors parted ways in December.

Campbell went on to star in a total of five series of the horror movie Scream. However, the two actors have been in touch with each other. In a recent event, Matthew Lillard came out in the defense of Neve Campbell over a payment dispute. 

The 48-year-old actress announced that she would not be returning for the sixth installment of Scream. She told in an interview that the offer presented to her didn't equate to the value that she brought to the franchise. So, she has opted to discontinue her involvement in the project.

The 52-year-old actor defended Campbell's decision and added that there should not be payment discrimination between male and female actors. The actor was part of the original movie where he played Stu Macher. He added that the Scream franchise was a huge success and Campbell is the lead character in the franchise. So, it is only fair that she should be paid rightly.

Both the actors have come a long way from the initial project of Scream. After a brief relationship in the late 90s, both actors have made different life choices. At present, Campbell is with her partner JJ Feild and Lilliard is happily married to his wife Heather Helm.
