The small town of Olney, Illinois is grieving the loss of 33-year-old Nicole Reneah (Troyer) Pedigo, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 18th at her home. Nicole leaves behind her beloved children, 6-year-old Lane and 4-year-old Kenley, as well as her heartbroken father, siblings, extended family, and countless friends.
Nicole was born on January 19, 1990 in Richland County, Illinois to David and Debbie (Hancock) Troyer. Friends and family remember her most for her lively personality, passion for glitz and glamour, and immense love for her kids.
“Anyone who knew Nicole could sum up her whole life in two words: Lane and Kenley,” said childhood friend Melissa Grey. “Once she became a mom, her entire world revolved around them.”
Nicole was actively involved in her kid’s lives, frequently volunteering for their sports teams and activities. She also loved documenting their lives through photos. Melissa estimates her social media accounts hold over 10,000 pictures of Lane and Kenley over the years.

Nicole’s Legacy
Friends describe Nicole as one-of-a-kind, always ready to lend an ear or share a laugh. Her niece Paige Troyer, 20, shared how instrumental her Aunt Nicole was during tough teen years.
“She taught me to love myself when I struggled to,” wrote Paige. “Nicole was my biggest cheerleader and a role model for confidence. I’ll carry that with me forever.”
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lane and Kenley Pedigo Education Fund to support Nicole’s children through school and beyond. Donations can be made directly through any First Financial Bank location. Notes, photos, and condolences for the family can also be sent to Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home.
While her devastating loss leaves a massive hole for all who loved her, Nicole’s vivacious spirit lives on through the memories of good times shared and the two young lives she held so dear. May her memory be a blessing to little Lane and Kenley as they grow up without their loving mother.
