The robbery and aggravated assault at a Nike warehouse in Memphis, Tennessee, was captured in video footage.
The incident, which was captured on camera, showed several individuals ransacking the warehouse and moving boxes around, making it difficult to track who had taken what.
The footage also showed that numerous employees attempted to stop the robbery and put themselves in harm’s way.
Some employees even found themselves in physical altercations with the robbers. Unfortunately, the number of perpetrators involved in the robbery remains unknown.
The complainant reported that at around 9:14 a.m., two unknown individuals wearing all black with black masks cut the lock off the security fence in front of bay door number 3.
They then opened the door and backed their white truck up to the entrance, where they began to toss boxes of Nike merchandise into the truck.
Before long, the robbers were confronted by employees, who attempted to thwart the robbery.
Despite their efforts, the suspects left the scene at around 9:15 a.m. It is still unknown how many boxes of merchandise were stolen.
The complaint states that around 10 to 20 boxes were stolen, but an accurate number will be known once the merchandise inventory is conducted.
The Memphis Police Department is currently investigating the robbery and assault, and Nike is expected to conduct its own investigation soon.
