With 453 contestants booted off Squid Game: The Challenge, the Netflix show has millions of viewers worldwide convinced they can conquer the ruthless tasks. The good news is that no one is sacrificing their life for the TV’s biggest payout of $4.56 million. The even better news? Fans can now apply for Squid Game as season 2 has been confirmed.
Squid Game: The Challenge season 2 casting – how to apply
Do you have what it takes to bear the intense pressure and betrayals of Squid Game? If so, today is your lucky day as Netflix has opened casting for season 2.
To apply, visit the casting website and select either US, UK, or global, depending on your location. The latter is open to non-US and non-UK fans only.
Applicants must upload a one-minute video introducing themselves, explaining why they deserve a slot, their “game plan” to win the competition, and what they would do if they won the jackpot. Candidates also need to send in one headshot photo and a full-length image.
The prize money will remain at $4.56 million.

Season 2 fate was unknown just days ago
The renewal comes just four days after executive producers Stephen Lambert and John Hay revealed they had no idea whether Squid Game: The Challenge season 2 would happen.
“That’s all in the hands of our dear friends at Netflix, if they have the desire whether they want to do it again,” they told Entertainment Weekly. “It probably is too early to judge, but we would obviously love to [do season 2]. We think it’s a game with potential.” Way to throw us off the scent, guys.
“Potential” is an understatement. In its first week of release, the show reached number 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 TV category, with 85.7 million hours viewed, and is topping the charts for the second consecutive week.
Squid Game: The Challenge season 2 potential release date
With casting just launched, don’t expect to season 2 anytime soon. Considering season 1’s production schedule, we can expect it to return sometime around July 2024.
Season 1 casting began in June 2022 and the final call came in September. Filming in the UK’s Cardington Studios kicked off in January 2023, so there was a seven-month period between casting and recording.
With the Squid Game production set already built, it’s possible that it could land on screens sooner unless they introduce new games and stages.
