While in the Champions League, teams can map their route to the final once the draw has been made, it is very different in the Europa League and Conference League.

The teams that finish third in the eight Champions League groups drop into the Europa League and become some of the favourites to lift the trophy.

Here are the teams that have dropped out of Europe's primary competition in the last three years:
