Tammy and Terry met during a show in 1999, when she was going through a divorce with her ex-husband, David Lutrell, with whom she has a daughter, Lacey. Also, Terry was suffering from health issues, as per sources.

In an interview with Closer Weekly, Terry opened up about his decision to get married for the fourth time in his life after dating for 15 years.

“We were both coming out of bad divorces and when I was getting close to her, I’d run and hide for six weeks, then come running back. I said, ‘There’s nobody getting their hands around my heart again,” Terry said.

Tammy’s love life has always been in harmony. She waited for several years without becoming furious. Terry Bradshaw pondered for a long time if he should enter another long-term commitment or not, following his three disastrous marriages in the past.

One day Terry was passing by Tammy in the hallway and told Tammy that they are getting married in Hawaii. Tammy was clueless at first and went like “OK.”  That was the time when Terry finally decided to fulfill a commitment for the rest of his life with his love Tammy.

In 2004, they officially got married in a small event with some of their close friends. Marrying Tammy, as per the NFL legend, was like marrying his “best friend.” Tammy has found the right person to guide her life. 

What Happened to Tammy Bradshaw’s Son?

Tammy and her ex-husband David Luttrull Sr. had a son who was born in 1985. They tragically lost him, David Jr., whose nickname was Cody, around a decade ago.

On 6th July 2009, David Sr. and Tammy’s oldest son, 23-year-old David Cody Luttrull lost his life to a heroin overdose. He was found dead on the floor of his residence in Dallas, Texas.

Police reported that the death was due to the intoxication of heroin. Since then, the Bradshaws have worked long and hard to raise public awareness of the risks of opioids through fundraising.

The overdose, they suspect, was unintentional. Terry Bradshaw has verified this in interviews he has given as part of the family’s charitable activities. In 2018, he shared his sentiments over drug prevention.

“Kids do some crazy things and have no education about it. It’s a sad story and one that has to be told.”

Working Together as Humanitarian

Terry and his wife, Tammy are also active in a number of organizations and charitable endeavours. They are kind-hearted and getting recognized for their philanthropic efforts. They are frequently supporting and funding worthy organizations such as Chris Long’s Waterboys program.

Their contributions to deliver water to drought-stricken African nations and immense work for the 525 Foundation is applaudable.

The foundation’s name 525 is derived from the numbers 5 and 25 worn in high school hockey, by the boys who died of an opium overdose.

The organization was founded by a family from South Bend, Indiana, when their two sons, Jack and Nick Savage, lost their lives accidentally with drug overdoses while at a party simultaneously.

Becky Savage is the boys’ mother. She came on The Today Show in 2017 to share her experience about losing his boys to dangerous drugs. In her boys’ honour, Becky’s family established an organization to encourage drug prevention and awareness. 

Tammy Bradshaw, who watched the segment on The Today Show, got in touch with Becky Savage. Tammy got to know more about the foundation when they decided to meet and went for lunch and struck up a friendship right away.

In 201, Becky Savage appeared at the 525 Foundation fundraising event and shared with WSBT that how she met Tammy and from where their friendship started.

“I remember lying in bed reading emails and saw one from a gal named Tammy,” said Becky.

 “I remember her saying that she had been touched by the story of our boys and then she went into her heartbreak that she had experienced similar issue with the loss of her son,” she added.

Terry Bradshaw stated that both his wife and he intend to remain active contributors to the foundation for a long time. Deceased Cody’s younger sister, Lacey held Facebook fundraisers for the charity on her personal Facebook profile.

In February 2019, The Bradshaw family featured on Celebrity Family Feud, winning $10,000, which they were collecting for the 525 Foundation. They have been constantly helping the foundation to spread awareness.

Exchanging Vows For The Second Time

Terry Bradshaw’s marriage to Tammy Bradshaw has been going on for seven years. Considering his turbulent experience with the concept of marriage, the NFL icon Terry confessed that their first wedding was hurried.

On the show “The Bradshaw Brunch,” the two were seen exchanging vows in an episode when they relive their first wedding.

“Getting married is a huge thing and it hasn’t been exactly the strength of my life, that’s for sure. I mean, you have a lot of doubt when you’ve struck out like I have,” said Terry, who had been divorced three times.

He added, “And I was nervous to fail again. Who wouldn’t be? I knew I had to get married overnight or it wouldn’t happen at all.”

The wedding was conducted by Terry’s stepdaughter Lacey Hester, whose own baby girl Zurie acted as the maid of honour, and the venue was in the Aloha, on a beach.

Daughters of Terry, Rachel and Erin Bradshaw praised him for renewing his vows and invited their family for the first time. “It hurt my feelings the first time since we weren’t included,” Erin said during a round of golf.

Terry expressed regret, stating,  “I never gave any thought to that, and I should have, so I apologize for that. This is my family: two girls, step-daughter, two son-in-laws, grandkids. Closest part of my world, right there.”

Bonding with Daughters

Tammy seemed to have put in a lot of work and put herself in their mother’s shoes. Tammy was and still is a pillar of strength for her daughters, and they have formed an unbreakable relationship with her.

Tammy has taken excellent care of Terry’s daughters from his previous marriage. Erin is an equestrian and Rachael is a  country singer. She is such an ideal mother figure for the two girls, and it appears that they all have also regarded her as their super mom since they are frequently viewed.
