Tanner Beebe's Baseball Recruiting Profile
Personal Statement
Dear Coaches,
My passion outside of baseball is computers and I would like to attend an institute of higher learning where I have the opportunity to learn more about code and design. I have significantly improved academically since I switched high schools following my sophomore year as I am supported properly in my efforts. I am also inspired by the opportunity baseball affords me to attend a quality school and am highly motivated to perform at my highest level academically.
I have worked with Tom House's National Pitching Association (NPA) the past two years and they have prescribed me a training protocol which helped increased my velocity significantly. In their performance metric testing I scored exceptionally well across several indicators including rotational speed, arm speed, "run and gun" velocity and fast twitch muscle composition. Mr. House told me I am "projectable with a high ceiling." I feel my velocity is high considering I am a "late bloomer" physically. I still do not shave and have yet to fill out, weighing 150 lbs at 6 ft. tall. As I physically mature gaining size and strength I feel with my coinciding training regimen I will be throwing much harder by the end of my senior year.
My father is a member of the National Pitching Association, American Baseball Coaches Association and a former semi-professional ballplayer. I feel with his guidance as well as with the ongoing support I receive from the NPA I have built a strong foundation for future achievement. My father as well as the NPA emphasize the importance of mastering a secondary pitch and consequently I have developed an advanced curve ball which I throw at various speeds. I also use a knuckleball occasionally as a changeup with great success. The combination of my three pitches has led me to average over two strikeouts per inning in 2017 which I believe to be the highest rate in Western Massachusetts.
I am very raw and am eager to learn and grow my abilities from a collegiate level coach. I was late to baseball (age 12) and considering my relative inexperience of pitching only four seasons I feel I have made great progress in a short time. I am dedicated to continuing and exceeding my progression level.
Additionally, I work as a mentor in a "Best Buddies" program at my high school in which I assist students with developmental disabilities. I also help train younger baseball players in my town and enjoy helping others.
I feel with my above stated qualities and aspirations I would make an excellent addition to any school and baseball team. I appreciate your time in reading my personal statement.
Sincerely,
Tanner Beebe
