The Grand Prairie Police Officer’s Death Occurred During A Car Chase

A Grand Prairie police officer’s death occurred on Monday, 14 November 2022. It was reported that he crashed during a pursuit with a driver who didn’t have a license and showed a fake paper license tag.

The Grand Prairie Police Department released a recent report that the officer’s name was Brandon Tsai, and his death occurred at 10:40 PM on Monday near the Belt Line Road and Pioneer Parkway intersection area.

Officer Brandon caught a person driving a silver Chevrolet Malibu, and when he asked the person to show his license, he showed a fake paper license tag.

The police department said that Brandon tried to stop the driver, but he missed him. The driver chose to speed up to get away while Officer Tsai called for backup.

The pursuit continued for several miles, and according to Grand Prairie Chief of Police Daniel Scesney, Tsai and the backup he called were chasing the Malibu. The driver suddenly took a sharp turn, and the backup team slowed down to make the turn.

During the turn, Tsai’s car was over the speed limit and crashed with his backup officer’s car at the front. Daniel said that the force of the accident caused his car to topple over and hit the traffic pole.

He said, “Our nation lost a hero last night. Officer Brandon Tsai represented the very best among us and laid down his life protecting this city and all those who live within it.”

He added, “Our hearts are broken but we are grateful to all those who have extended their thoughts and prayers to Brandon’s family including his entire extended family who wear blue.”

After the brutal accident, Tsai was rushed to the Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where the doctors declared him dead. The officer who sat in the front vehicle endured some minor injuries and was hospitalized, and later, he was released from the medical center.

Another person who was reported to be sitting in the backup officer’s car was not injured during the fatal accident.

Let’s discuss who Brandan Tsai was.

Grand Prairie Police Officer, Brandan Tsai

Brandon Tsai was a police officer at the Grand Prairie police department. He was an organ donor, and it was reported that he was 32 years old at the time of his death.

Since January 2022, Brandon has been working with the Grand Prairie police department. Before joining Grand Prairie police, he served five years for the Los Angeles Police Department, California.

After the death of the officer, the department released a statement, “He was a loving friend, a trusted colleague, and an outstanding officer whose passion was providing service to the public.”

Grand Prairie Chief of Police, Daniel Scesney, said that all arrangements for Tsai’s funeral had been completed. He added that the details about the funeral would be shared shortly.

The funeral of Brandon Tsai will take place on Arkansas Lane at the department’s Public Safety Building, and it will be held at 6 PM.

Chief officer Scesney said that the search for the Malibu driver is still going. The police said they didn’t have enough information about the Malibu driver beside his car’s model and color.

Scesney also discussed the fake paper tag and said that the license number was 0330S43, and the expiry date mentioned on the fake paper tag was September 2022.

The police have reported recording several vehicles in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the same description they released.
