Amid his WWE absence while fulfilling acting obligations in Hollywood, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson teased being part of a massive match at next year's WrestleMania 41 on Friday.

In an interview with ESPN's Mike Coppinger, The Rock said: "We're on the 1-yard line to create the biggest WrestleMania of all time and the biggest match of all time at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. I'll just leave it at that, Final Boss style."

Coppinger assumes The Rock is referencing a singles match against Cody Rhodes, and a large portion of the WWE fanbase likely agrees given the heated rivalry The Rock had with The American Nightmare leading up to WrestleMania 40.

After it initially looked as though Rhodes was going to step aside and allow The Rock to face his cousin, Roman Reigns, in the main event of WrestleMania 40 despite having won the Royal Rumble, Cody changed his mind and announced he would challenge Reigns on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

That led to The Rock turning heel, aligning himself with Reigns and The Bloodline and referring to himself as The Final Boss due to his position on TKO's board of directors.

The Rock made Rhodes' life a living hell during the build toward WrestleMania, including one occasion when he beat Cody to a bloody pulp.

On Night 1 of WrestleMania 40, The Rock and Reigns teamed up in a winning effort against Rhodes and Seth Rollins, meaning the Night 2 main event would be fought under Bloodline Rules.

Despite that, Rhodes was victorious, ending Reigns historic run as world champion and becoming WWE champion for the first time in his own right.

The next night on Raw, The Rock noted that while he had to step away from WWE for a while, his story with Cody was far from over.

All of that points toward a huge match between The Rock and Rhodes being on the horizon, but it is fair to wonder if The Rock was actually teasing a match against Reigns at WrestleMania 41.

Back in January, The Rock appeared on ESPN's First Take and said a match between himself and Reigns would result in "the greatest and the biggest WrestleMania of all time."

Additionally, while The Rock and Reigns have been away, Solo Sikoa has take over The Bloodline and has put his stamp on it by recruiting Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.

It seems WWE is building toward bringing Reigns back as a babyface to combat the new Bloodline at some point, and if that is the case, it could be revealed that The Rock has been pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Regardless of who The Rock's WrestleMania 41 opponent is, the match will be a huge deal since he has not had a legitimate, advertised singles match since WrestleMania 29.
