Wheel of Fortune host savagely unveils player’s loss as $100k goes down the drain Sat 3 February 2024 02:14 Helen Williams

A huge prize was at stake during Wheel of Fortune this February. Just one word stood in the way of the game show player reaching a life-changing sum of money. Sadly, Shalocmont Jacobs suffered a huge loss in the guessing game. And the show’s host was there to highlight exactly how much had gone down the drain.

Wheel of Fortune’s biggest-ever prize soared over a million dollars. Unfortunately for Shalocmont, she wasn’t walking away with that much. But, the player did bag herself some money on the game show. Fans felt for her as she just narrowly missed out on winning a lot more cash.

Wheel of Fortune player’s savage loss

Shalocmont had one final round to play with the hopes of bagging $100,000 on Wheel of Fortune.

The player was presented with a board with missing letters she had to solve. The words read “It’s beyond me,” but Shalocmont was unable to guess the phrase correctly in the time frame.

Once the answer was revealed, host Pat Sajak said it was “ironic,” as Shalocmont said: “It’s beyond me!”

He then went on to share “the important thing” of how much money she could have won.

He said: “Do you want to show them?” before handing her the card showing the prize amount.

Pat added: “I wanted you to at least hold it…”

Shalocmont’s living her dreams

Despite Pat’s savage unveiling of what Shalocmont could have won, she did walk away with a cash prize.

The Wheel of Fortune star took home £25,750 and she appeared super happy at the end of the episode.

She said: “I am excited,” and also took to Instagram to say appearing on the show was a “dream come true” for her.

Fans cringe over ‘pink orchid’

Shalocmont’s $100k loss isn’t the only thing Wheel of Fortune fans are cringing over this year.

During another episode of the game show, Pat told player Megan she had 10 seconds to try and guess her answer.

The answer was “pink orchid,” and fans were convinced they heard her say those words.

Many took to X (Twitter) to say: “There is no question, she absolutely said “pink orchid”. Please give this girl her winnings!”

Another wrote: “I’m sorry, did she NOT say Pink Orchid the first time? Or am I tripping?”

More felt they were being driven crazy, writing: “Who else watched Wheel of Fortune? Did she not say PINK ORCHID?”

And: “I heard it too! She said Pink orchid. What the heck.”

However, more fans cleared up the confusion with a simple volume trick, commenting: “On low volume it sounds like pink orchid but on high volume it’s definitely ‘something orchid’.”
