“i2i International Soccer Academy England, UK The largest and most prestigious international soccer academy in the UK. The i2i International Soccer Academy (i2i ISA) offers student athletes the wonderful opportunity of studying for a degree in England, whilst focusing on their development as a soccer player. We are partnered with both Northumbria University, Newcastle and York St John University, where students can study for an internationally recognised degree. All academic degrees run alongside a pro-level Soccer Development Programme, which enables students to train five days a week in a professional environment. The timetabling of lectures and soccer development is meticulously planned to maximize the contact time in the classroom and on the field. Our experienced coaches, who have played and coached at English Premier League clubs, work closely with each individual player with a view to helping them pursue a range of careers, both inside and outside the sports industry. Students who hold a European passport may also be invited to play Semi-Professional Soccer with i2i Sports’ very own club Tadcaster Albion FC. The i2i ISA is the ultimate programme for dedicated student athletes who dream of studying for a degree, whilst exploring the exciting opportunities within the world of soccer. i2i Soccer Coaching We offer the highest quality coaching and guarantee to significantly improve the ability of every single student athlete, with a view to helping them pursue a wide range of careers. Student athletes at the i2i ISA are available for selection to compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and will also have the opportunity to play for our own i2i ISA U21 & U23 league teams. Alongside league fixtures, students will also play showcase matches against professional and semi-professional teams across a 9 month season spanning 35+ games. All i2i Academy matches are filmed and analysed by our performance analysis team which gives us a dynamic and unique insight into the team’s performance, enabling us to unlock the potential of every individual through our comprehensive Athlete Monitoring System. All student athletes train like full-time professionals five days a week with our UEFA PRO and A licensed coaches who have previously worked at a range of professional clubs including Manchester City, Leeds United, Hull City and Nottingham Forest. Education The graduate market is an increasingly competitive place, and here at the i2i International Soccer Academy, we recognise that a student athletes education is equally as important as their soccer development. We work hard to develop a player’s ability, whilst also ensuring every individual gains the qualifications needed to prepare them for a range of careers, both inside and outside the world of soccer. We work in partnership with the highly regarded York St John University (YSJ), which was shortlisted for the prestigious “University of the Year” award and Northumbria University which was ranked in the 'top 3 UK universities for international experience'. All student athletes with the i2i International Soccer Academy enrol as full time students at their chosen university. Northumbria University is recognised as one of the most International Universities in the UK and has been ranked in the top 3 UK universities for international experience (What Uni Student Choice Awards 2018), along with attaining a growing international reputation for academic excellence, reflected in its recent ranking in the Top 500 in the Times Higher World University Rankings 2019 and Top 50 UK ranking in The Guardian League Table 2018. The Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University also has the prestigious AACSB double accreditation, and has previously been awarded as The Times Higher Education Business School of the Year 2015. We work closely with both universities and the relevant departments to meticulously plan our timetables in order to maximise a student’s contact time in the classroom and on the soccer field. US students are able to apply and use Federal Aid (FAFSA), Parents Plus Loans, VA Affairs and Sallie Mae Loans with both Northumbria University and York St John University. Our specialist teams are on hand to help guide students and their families through the loans process. We are proud to work with both prestigious universities in enabling our students to ‘fulfil their potential’ both on and off the field. Accommodation: Each i2i ISA student athlete is guaranteed single occupancy accommodation with an en-suite bedroom in a shared flat within walking distance of the campus and city centre at both universities. Facilities: All players in the i2i ISA have full access to ‘state of the art’ sports facilities including first class strength and conditioning suites which are used by both professional athletes and elite student athletes to enhance fitness. Holding a ranking of the Top 10 UK universities for facilities, students are also able to maximise their development with use of the laboratories including biomechanics, physiology and metabolic kitchens. Why York? York is a beautiful medieval walled city with a rich heritage and fantastic history. The city has provided the backdrop to many major political events in England throughout its 2000 years of existence. As a popular tourist destination, it is home to hundreds of attractions, museums, historic buildings, tours, shops, restaurants and bars. It is perhaps most famous for York Minster which is the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe. York is an extremely friendly city, which is big enough to have a professional soccer and rugby team, but small enough to be able to walk everywhere. And when it comes to exploring the UK, London and Edinburgh are both approximately two hours away on the train. Why Newcastle? Newcastle is one of the top UK cities for students; it is accessible, affordable, safe and is home to EPL team Newcastle United. It was recently named the ‘No 1 Destination to visit in 2018’ (Rough guides). It is lively and diverse, known for its nightlife, art, music and sports. The compact nature of the city means it is easy to get around and become familiar with your new home. Newcastle was also listed in the ‘Top 3 Best Value Cities’ (QS Top Universities 2018). What’s a Taster Trip? We also offer a 10 day Taster Trip to the UK. These trips are an excellent opportunity which give Students a unique insight into living, studying and playing in England, whilst undertaking a three year university degree at York St John University (YSJ) or Northumbria University. The packed schedule will combine daily training sessions and matches with tours of both universities, a live professional fixture and a EPL stadium tour. All of the players on the taster trip will also have access to all of YSJ's and Northumbria Universities ‘state of the art’ sports facilities – from the grass and turf (3G) pitches to the strength & conditioning suite. Players who attend the taster will be expertly assessed by our former EPL coaches, and those with the required playing ability coupled with the required academic background, will be shortlisted for a full time degree at York St John University or Northumbria University. Here is an insight into our Taster Trip: What’s an ID Clinic The i2i College ID Clinics are held by i2i's very own former EPL players and UEFA licensed coaches. Head of Player Development at the i2i International Soccer Academy and former EPL Player Jono Greening said: "Our College ID Clinics give soccer student athletes a valuable insight into both the athletic and academic features of our highly regarded soccer and education programme with our partner universities." Our College ID Clinics have only a limited number of spaces to ensure high quality coaching. Who can attend? i2i International Soccer Academy College ID Clinics are open to 14-21 year old high school and college players who have the talent and dedication to balance a full time university education with a full time coaching programme. The College ID Clinic should be treated as a university interview or sports trial. Players must be committed to all aspects of the ID Clinic, and be prepared to learn and develop, on and off the field.”
