Yousif Askar's Men's Soccer Recruiting Profile
Personal Statement
My drive for both school and soccer differentiates me from many other recruits in the process, as it makes me a complete student-athlete. Going to the International Academy of Macomb can be, and is, very tiring for most students, and pushes them to their limits. With the typical 3-4 hours of homework each day, it can get very tiring for students to accomplish these tasks, especially if they do extracurricular activities as well. For example, high school soccer takes up much of my time, and when included with my school, can cause it to be difficult to finish the homework and score well on tests; on the contrary, my passion to be a student-athlete has led me to be able to excel in these areas. With a 4.0 GPA out of a 4.0 scale, I was able to finish a varsity high school season, all in my sophomore year. My drive to excel in both school and soccer allows me not only to learn how to balance and use time efficiently, but also teaches me to be patient in life and in all my problems. I hope to have the same situation in the future, where I am given the chance to exceed expectations by studying psychology and playing soccer in college.
