For many fans, the stance on William Regal since his return to WWE has likely been that they won't get to see him on actual broadcasts again.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Ortman), Regal's non-compete clause for appearing on television is almost at an end. Meaning, he could appear on WWE broadcasts again soon in some sort of authority role like he has in the past, despite the report noting that he's apparently had little interest in doing so.

Still, the idea of Regal getting back in front of the cameras is a super-easy buy. Given the way WWE has handled the likes of Nick Aldis as authority characters and general managers lately, it makes far too much sense not to happen.

And really, if we're going that far already, while Regal on NXT is great, one has to wonder if his talents might not be better used as an opposing brand's general manager to square off with Aldis and really give some of those cross-brand competitions even more spice.
