Jalen Robinson's Men's Basketball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

I started playing sports at 3 years old. At one point, it seemed like I was playing something all year around.  I played T-ball, football, soccer, and basketball.  When I started traveling with basketball, I limited myself to only two sports. I thought football was my favorite sport, but I stopped playing after my freshman year of high school. The thought of not playing basketball has never been an option. You can definitely say it’s my favorite sport.

After overcoming the obstacles of relocating to a new state in junior high, I have learned that I can fit in with new teammates, show leadership, commitment, and sacrifice. Moving is never easy, but it’s what you do when you get there that makes the difference.

After graduating from high school, I plan to attend a 4 year university. My goal is to remain a student athlete, and work hard in and out of the classroom. I have an interest in engineering, architecture, and business, with plans of attending graduate school someday.  I’m usually the youngest player and more like the little brother on my teams, so being selected as varsity captain was a huge accomplishment this year. As an athlete, I believe in being a team player and putting in the work to get the job done. I also expect the same from my teammates. Over the years, I’ve noticed how kids look up to college athletes, and I’d like to be that type of player. Although I work with kids over the summer, as a NHS member, I want to find the time to do more.
