Kyle Hess's Baseball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

I have played baseball from the time I was able to walk in my back yard with my Dad.  I have worked hard as I became older to be at my best in the game. I have played on our town travel baseball team (Donegal Baseball) every spring, which is very competitive, I played on travel teams during spring and summer as well as fall travel teams. I played short stop until the coaches decided when I was about  11 or 12 that my skills would be best utilized in the outfield.  As a freshman (2014-15) I started in the out field. I helped lead our team to the league championship and AAA District 3 Championship, and the State Semi Final game. I love my high school team, the 9 starters learned to work hard toward the same goal. We took one game at a time. We worked hard together to make it as far as we did. We never gave up.

I work hard, practicing hard on and off the field, I work hard to be an honors student as well because education is important also. I belong to Spooky Nook Sports where I usually try to work out 4 times a week training for baseball, lifting working on my speed and agility. I hit in the batting cage every day. My freshman year - 2014-2015 some of my academic accomplishments were receiving a Varsity Letter in Baseball,  Honors Athlete Award, I was also on Summa Honor Roll. I was honored with being on the 1st Team 2015 School League All Star on the Lancaster County Midget League. This summer I attended Perfect Game Super 25 -15u.

I hope to attend a competitive baseball college or university and get a good education, and continue to play baseball as far as I can. I am unsure what I would like to major in, but I think I have some time to decide.

One thing that might set me apart from other recruits, is our family, and my extended family has baseball in their genes. Its a passion of ours. Playing the game as well as watching. I have watched my cousin Chris Heisey play baseball from the time I was little. He worked hard at a D3 College and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in his Junior year of college. He worked hard and climbed the ladder through the minor league to the majors. I admire him and consider him one of my role models.
