Mark Ferencin Obituary, Death – With great sadness, the Lehigh University community mourns the untimely death of Badge #817 holder Officer Mark Ferencin. With his exceptional 19 years of service and unflinching dedication to duty, Mark created a lasting legacy for the Lehigh University Police Department and the people he served.

Before moving to Lehigh, Mark worked as a police officer in Fountain Hill, his hometown, where he proved that he was dedicated to standing up for the people he said he would. He served as an officer in Mount Rainier, Maryland, for nearly 30 years, dedicating his life to the honorable field of law enforcement, despite geographical restrictions. The Lehigh University Police Department expresses deep grief for Mark’s untimely retirement while also noting the important contributions he made over the course of a long and distinguished career.

Mark left behind a legacy of unselfish devotion, a strong sense of duty to the people he served, and a dedication to justice.
