Myron B. Willis Jr. – Metropolitan Funeral

Myron was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the parents of Myron Barlow Willis Sr. and Carolyn Collins Willis. He attended Norfolk Public Schools. Norview Senior High School Diploma, June 1996, Tidwater Community College one year 1997, Tidewater Tech Institute Diploma of Computer Support Specialist-November 30, 2020, ITT Technical Institute-Associate of Applied Science Degree-December 2007, and ITT Technical Institute-Bachelor of Science Degree in Information System and Cyber Security-December 2014.

He worked at Naval Base Norfolk Navy Exchange Store in Housekeeping and Computer Department for two years. His current employment was with Sumiton Drive Technologies Machinery Corporation of America in Chesapeake, Virginia for sixteen years in shipping department. He was in leadership position as lead employer.

Myron was preceded in death by his grandparents: the late John C. and Beatrice Willis of St. Louis, Missouri and Henry and Marie Collins of Norfolk, Virginia. He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Myron Barlow Willis, Sr. and Carolyn Collins Willis; sister, Patrice Jackson of Cibolo, Texas; two nephews, Aric and Shaun Jackson; daughter, Jurnne Willis; two step daughters, Naya Willis and Deaja Porter of Georgia; former wife, Rosa Porter Willis of Georgia; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends; uncle, Byron, Terry and Danny Willis of St. Louis, Missouri and Tony Collins of Norfolk, Virginia; aunts, Pamela and Carolyn of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia Johnson of Los Angeles, California, Jacqueline Gray and Janice Barnes of Norfolk, Virginia, and Cynthia McRae of Stanford, Connecticut and a host of cousins and friends in St. Louis, Missouri, Norfolk, Virginia, South Carolina and Los Angeles, California.

Myron received his early Christian Education at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia under the leadership of the late Dr. Raymond Dean. He was active in children youth and adult ministries activities. He loved mostly the 8am morning worship services, Sunday School, Bible Study and Junior Choir and Vacation Bible Study with the girls.

Myron was very close to his family and friends and three daughters. He enjoyed family get togethers and celebration of the fellowship of all the people he came in contact with. He loved traveling to Georgia to get his daughters and spend summer vacation, birthdays, holidays and special events with them. He loved his daughters and took every means to support them. Myron enjoyed being with his cousins and friends. He loved playing his video games and basketball. Mostly he enjoyed hanging around his family members talking and eating good food and memories we brought to each other. Lots of laughter, hugs, kisses and loving on each other.

Myron will be truly missed. Our hearts are broken. His soul is in the Father’s care. We will see him again in our eternal home with our Father, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Saints of God.
