Nick Wilson's Baseball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

My whole life I have breathed baseball. I started playing baseball at the young age of 4, and have never thought of stopping since. But most importantly, it’s all been possible because of my father. His love for the game is just a great as mine, which has made baseball something for us to easily bond over. My father saw the passion that I have for the game, and as a result he showed me how to get better, while teaching me important lessons of hard work and integrity. During my sophomore year, I made varsity, however being a starting pitcher only meant that I found myself on the bench more than I liked. During that time I learned how to be an excellent teammate by cheering on the team and constantly picking up dudes coming off the field. At the end of that season I received “The Charger Award”, which is an award given out to the guy with the best leadership. Without my father teaching me those important lessons, I would be nowhere close to the athlete that I am today.

Other than spending most of my time to become a better athlete, I like to spend time with my community at church and at school. The friends that I have in my life are really important to me because they all have similar goals in mind as I do. I like to surround myself with good people because as my dad taught me “In order to be a good person, you have to surround yourself with great people.”  When looking for a college to play baseball at, I would really like to find one with a well motivated and hardworking community to surround myself with.
