No. 4 UNC Upset by NC State in ACC Title Game, Questioned as Contender by CBB Fans | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
The NC State Wolfpack have knocked out two in-state juggernauts in just a matter of days.
After defeating Duke Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament, the Wolfpack finished the job Saturday by beating North Carolina 72-62 to win the conference tournament.

This secures a tournament berth for NC State as it hopes to have some magic left in order to do some damage in March Madness. It was its fifth win in five days.
North Carolina, on the other hands, have complicated its bid for a No. 1 seed.
A win over the Wolfpack would have really helped its resume, but it wasn't meant to be. The Tar Heels still have a great chance to receive the honor, but Iowa State, Tennessee and others could also spoil that dream.
Regardless of seed, the loss shows that the 27-6 Tar Heels are capable of folding under pressure, which could be a recipe for disaster in March. On the other hand, UNC could have also gotten a wake-up call it needs and that could prove to be valuable for the NCAA Tournament.
Fans took to social media to debate the Tar Heels chances at making a push for a national title.
Mark Townsend @NCHeelEsqOn the plus side, the last few times UNC has won the national title, it did not win the ACC Tournament. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ricky Vaughn @watVAUGHNsaidUNC dont want it
Cam Lemons Debro @CamLemons_UNC very much feels like absolutely no one can get a bucket outside of RJ

Bigger problem is they just refused to win any of the minutes without either of Horne or Burns on the floor
Saving History🇺🇸🦅 @rjeff74UNC is always too busy looking ahead, instead of being in the now.
Devon Stone @Devon_Stone8UNC is getting out hustled. The team that's on their fifth game looks like the fresher team and that's just unacceptable
Adam Weinrib @AdamWeinribIf I had my druthers, I would've preferred UNC not getting murked by a tired NC State. All the negatives about making it to your conference final without the trophy. Yay.
The Tar Heels will need to have a short memory with this loss.
The NCAA Tournament will begin soon, and North Carolina has major title implications. Whether it has a No. 1 or No. 2 seed, the team will be a favorite in the majority of games.
The first round of the NCAA Tournament will begin March 21. The bracket will be finalized Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
